<br>
New Years - 1982 Those claiming to be Vevila's lost Children were soundly defeated! Right? Maybe not quite. Only those who attacked the house were soundly defeated. The rest are still at home, raising monsters and playing with things, which should be left strictly alone. It will take the combined efforts of the Haley, the Kane, and the Rhoswen lines-as well as heaven above-to stop a most foul creature from preying on humankind. Its tastiest treats are all those delicious little unborn souls. So who are the monsters, and who are the saints? Those with the third eye, or those that want all the three-eyed people dead? Only Druantia knows. The O'Byrne family lives richly from cradle to crypt. Come join them in their struggles and triumphs. One thing is certain, their story is never boring!

Christmas in the House of O'Byrne - 1981 This is the first year that Adell has control of the mystical ancestral house for the O'Byrne dynasty. The house is located in the Mariposa area in California. The O'Byrne family is directly descended from Druantia, a druid Goddess that was historically known to be the Queen of the Druids. This Christmas celebration has the house full of magic users, there is a plot to pull down Adell's branch of the family, and the teenage girls inadvertently open a portal into Faerie, which initiates a whole mess of complications. This book portrays strong family ties and magic.

<title>Mamet, David FAUSTUS  eBook</title>

<br>
Having put his personal stamp on the contemporary theater, David Mamet now performs the supremely audacious feat of reinventing the theater of the past. He does so by telling his own ingenious and eerily moving version of the tragedy of Dr. Faustus.Mamets Faustuslike Marlowes and Goethes before himis a philosopher whose lifes work has been the pursuit of the secret engine of the world. He is also the distracted father of a small, adoring son. Out of the clash between love and intellect and the fatal operation of Faustus pride, Mamet fashions a work that is at once caustic and heart-wrenching and whose resplendent language marries metaphysics to conmans patter. A meditation on reason and folly, fathers and sons, and a breathtaking display of magic both literal and theatrical, Faustus is a triumph.From the Trade Paperback edition.

The courtroom drama Night of January 16th, famous for its open-ended verdict, is presented here in its definitive text. Also included are two of Rand's unproduced plays, Think Twice, a clever philosophical murder mystery, and Ideal, a bitter indictment of people's willingness to betray their highest values-symbolized by a Hollywood goddess suspected of a crime.

<title>Shakespeare, William HENRY IV PART 1  eBook</title>

<br>
William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon in April 1564, and his birth is traditionally celebrated on April 23. The facts of his life, known from surviving documents, are sparse. He was one of eight children born to John Shakespeare, a merchant of some standing in his community. William probably went to the King&amp;#8217;s New School in Stratford, but he had no university education. In November 1582, at the age of eighteen, he married Anne Hathaway, eight years his senior, who was pregnant with their first child, Susanna. She was born on May 26, 1583. Twins, a boy, Hamnet ( who would die at age eleven), and a girl, Judith, were born in 1585. By 1592 Shakespeare had gone to London working as an actor and already known as a playwright. A rival dramatist, Robert Greene, referred to him as &amp;#8220;an upstart crow, beautified with our feathers.&amp;#8221; Shakespeare became a principal shareholder and playwright of the successful acting troupe, the Lord Chamberlain&amp;#8217;s Men (later under James I, called the King&amp;#8217;s Men). In 1599 the Lord Chamberlain&amp;#8217;s Men built and occupied the Globe Theater in Southwark near the Thames River. Here many of Shakespeare&amp;#8217;s plays were performed by the most famous actors of his time, including Richard Burbage, Will Kempe, and Robert Armin. In addition to his 37 plays, Shakespeare had a hand in others, including <i>Sir Thomas More</i> and <i>The Two Noble Kinsmen</i>, and he wrote poems, including <i>Venus and Adonis</i> and <i>The Rape of Lucrece</i>. His 154 sonnets were published, probably without his authorization, in 1609. In 1611 or 1612 he gave up his lodgings in London and devoted more and more time to retirement in Stratford, though he continued writing such plays as <b>The Tempest</b> and <b>Henry VII</b> until about 1613. He died on April 23 1616, and was buried in Holy Trinity Church, Stratford. No collected edition of his plays was published during his life-time, but in 1623 two members of his acting company, John Heminges and Henry Condell, put together the great collection now called the First Folio.<br><br><br><i>From the Trade Paperback edition.</i>

<br>
<i>Attitudes and Alternatives</i> is a collection contemporary one-act plays, written by Paul Trupia. Since 2005, these pieces have been performed Off-Off Broadway and/or at the New York theatre festivals. The common theme that binds the collection are the real life situations, thoughts, alternatives and in some instances, the choices that we make. The collection is at times humorous, at times serious and at times a fantasy. Attitudes and Alternatives, debates our inner thoughts with reality and considers what is going through our minds as we go through the day. It is what a woman may consider as she gets ready for a date: it is what a man may be thinking as he gets off work for the week-end: it is the wondering thoughts of participants at an office meeting or a middle aged couple walking in the park at the start of summer. In many respects, it is what we think about in the solitude of our daily commute and toss around with as we try to sleep.<p> Targeted Audience Primarily those seeking performance material<ul> <li>Actors <li>Acting Schools and Classes <li>Universities <li>Small Theatre Companies, Local Theatre Groups <li>Play Festivals. <li>Other Playwrights and Directors</ul> In addition, there will be those in the 40-50 year old range who will find the content something that they can relate to.<p> To the actor, acting coach, producer or director, the collection offers an array of characters, ages, situations, genre and range to allow the development and showcase of talent. The real life situations are familiar to many and allow the performers to identify with and interpret the role as they may see it. The collection features realistic dialogue and monologues that have been used as material for auditions. The scripts, combined with acting talent, effective direction and technical support have in resulted in a productions that are creative, entertaining and thought provoking.

<br>
Though this great tragedy of unsurpassed intensity and emotion is played out against Renaissance splendor, its story of the doomed marriage of a Venetian senator&amp;#8217;s daughter, Desdemona, to a Moorish general, Othello, is especially relevant to modern audiences. The differences in race and background create an initial tension that allows the horrifyingly envious villain Iago methodically to promote the &amp;#8220;green-eyed monster&amp;#8221; jealousy, until, in one of the most deeply moving scenes in theatrical history, the noble Moor destroys the woman he loves&amp;#8211;only to discover too late that she was innocent.<br><br>Each Edition Includes:<br>&amp;#8226; Comprehensive explanatory notes <br>&amp;#8226; Vivid introductions and the most up-to-date scholarship <br>&amp;#8226; Clear, modernized spelling and punctuation, enabling contemporary readers to understand the Elizabethan English<br>&amp;#8226; Completely updated, detailed bibliographies and performance histories <br>&amp;#8226; An interpretive essay on film adaptations of the play, along with an extensive filmography<br><br><br><i>From the Paperback edition.</i>

<br>
These two raucously acclaimed new plays by Dael Orlandersmith, whom The New York Times has called "an otherworldly messenger, perhaps the sorcerer's apprentice, or a heaven-sent angel with the devil in her," confirm her reputation as one of the truly unique voices in contemporary American drama.In Yellowman, a finalist for the 2002 Pulitzer Prize in Drama, Alma and Eugene have known each other since they were young children. As their friendship blossoms into love, Alma struggles to free herself from her mother's poverty and alcoholism, while Eugene must contend with the legacy of being "yellow"lighter-skinned than his brutal and unforgiving father. In My Red Hand, My Black Hand, a young woman explores her heritage as the child of a blues-loving Native American man and a black sharecropper's daughter from Virginia. Alternately joyous and harrowing, both plays are powerful examinations of the racial tensions that fracture communities and individual lives.From the Trade Paperback edition.

<br>
Hailed for his humor and passion, the internationally acclaimed performance artist Tim Miller has delighted, shocked, and emboldened audiences all over the world. Body Blows gathers six of Millers best-known performances that chart the sexual, spiritual, and political topography of his identity as a gay man: Some Golden States, Stretch Marks, My Queer Body, Naked Breath, Fruit Cocktail, and Glory Box. In Body Blows, Tim Miller leaps from the stage to the page, as each performance script is illustrated with striking photographs and accompanied by Millers notes and comment. This book explores the tangible body blowstaken and givenof Millers life and times as explored in his performances: the queer-bashers blow, the sweet blowing breath of a lover, the below-the-belt blow of HIV/AIDS, the psychic blows from a society that disrespects the humanity of lesbian and gay relationships. Millers performances are full of the put-up-your-dukes and stand-your-ground of such day-to-day blows that make up being gay in America

<br>
Starting at the beginning of the twentieth century, Albuquerque examines the way the Modernist movement both fueled and inhibited the use of gay imagery in Brazilian drama. This elegant and fluid study ultimately becomes an examination of a whole Latin society, and the ways in which Latin theatre has absorbed and reflected the culture's own changing sensibilities, that will intrigue anyone interested in Latin American culture, literature, or theater.

<br>
Asses, asses, and more asses! This new edition of Plautus' rumbustious comedy provides the complete original Latin text, witty scholarly commentary, and an English translation that both complements and explicates Plautus' original style. John Henderson reveals this play as a key to Roman social relations centered on many kinds of slavery: to sex, money, and family structure; to masculinity and social standing; to senility and partying; and to jokes, lies, and idiocy. The translation remains faithful to Plautus' syllabic style for reading aloud, as well as to his humorous colloquialisms and wordplay, providing readers with a comfortable affinity to Plautus himself. An indispensable teaching and learning tool for the study of Roman New Comedy, this edition includes comprehensive commentary, useful indexes, and a pronunciation guide that will help readers of all levels understand and appreciate Plautus and his era

<br>
In this pioneering volume, Robert Skloot brings together four plays&amp;mdash;three of which are published here for the first time&amp;mdash;that fearlessly explore the face of modern genocide. The scripts deal with the destruction of four targeted populations: Armenians in Lorne Shirinians Exile in the Cradle, Cambodians in Catherine Fillouxs Silence of God, Bosnian Muslims in Kitty Feldes A Patch of Earth, and Rwandan Tutsis in Erik Ehns Maria Kizito. Taken together, these four plays erase the boundaries of theatrical realism to present stories that probe the actions of the perpetrators and the suffering of their victims. A major artistic contribution to the study of the history and effects of genocide, this collection carries on the important journey toward understanding the terror and trauma to which the modern world has so often been witness.
