Adobe ebooks may be viewed by two different types of software, both provided by Adobe: Adobe eBook Reader and Adobe Acrobat Reader*.
Adobe eBook Reader
Adobe eBook Reader stores ebooks in a "Library." Opening and viewing an ebook in Adobe Ebook Reader is as easy as opening the the Adobe Ebook Reader software and browsing through it's library.
Adobe Acrobat / Adobe Reader 6.x (or greater)
Adobe Acrobat / Adobe Reader 6.x (or greater)* stores ebooks in a "Bookshelf." Your Bookshelf can be found as a menu item under the "File" menu or as a button on the Adobe Acrobat tool bar. If you do not have a choice for "My Bookshelf," please review the section on Migrating to Adobe Acrobat 6.x (or greater).
The library or bookshelf will contain all the ebooks which you have acquired. Because each copy of the ebook software stores your identification and because your ebooks are personalized to your computer, you do not have to provide proper identification when you open your ebook for the first time. All Adobe ebooks have file names that end with the following string of text: ".pdf" and to locate all of your Adobe ebooks, you can search your computer for files with this text.
* Note that Adobe Acrobat 6.x contains Adobe Reader 6.x. Adobe Reader 6.x with eBook support is required to read eBooks. Please be sure you have installed Adobe Reader 6.x with eBook support.
