- IMPORTANT NEWS for Microsoft Reader customers:

- On September 30, 2003, Microsoft launched a new version of its eBook packaging software. This software addresses the security breach uncovered in the Summer of 2003. Users who downloaded ebooks prior to September 30th will need to reactivate their Reader software. However, no new Reader software needs to be installed.
- On June 30, 2003, Microsoft launched a new version of its Reader software. This software addresses the security breach uncovered late in 2002. Users who downloaded ebooks prior to June 30th will be able to read them on either the old version or the new version of the reader. However, after June 30, 2003, users must upgrade to the new version in order to continue downloading secure Microsoft ebooks.
